Abstract. Sulfation of chitosan (CS) Bombyx mori has been carried out using chlorosulfonic acid (CSA) as a sulfonating reagent. Optimal conditions for the production of chitosan sulfate (CHS) with a certain degree of hydrogen substitution of the amino group and hydroxyl group by the sulfo group and molecular structure have been revealed. Using the 6-311 ++ G (d. P) basis set of the B3LYP density functional method, the structure optimization and energy calculation have been performed for the CS and CSA models, as well as for the obtained sulfated derivatives.Biomedical testing of Bombyx mori chitosan sulfate samples has been carried out and their hypolipidic and anticoagulant properties have been revealed.

Key words. Bombyx mori CHS, CSA, quantum chemistry, biomedical practice.
