Abstract. The synthesis of nanochitosan from Bombyx mori chitosan with particle sizes within the range of 100–200 nm has been carried out. The antibacterial and immunological properties of the synthesized nanochitosan have been studied. It has been found that preparations based on nanochitosan have a pronounced antibacterial activity against almost all groups of microorganisms: St.saprofiticus, Str.pyogens, Ent.faecalis, Esch. Coli LP, Esch.Coli LN, Prot. vulgaris, Klebsiella, Actinomyces, regardless of concentration.Nanochitosan also increases the immune response of the living system: it increases the number of cells in the central organs of immunity in mice.

Key words. chitosan, sodium tripolyphosphate, nanoparticles, antibacterial activity.
