COMPARATIVE PROPERTIES OF CHITOSAN HYDROCHLORIDE AND CHITOSAN NANOACETATE FROM BOMBYX MORI

Abstract. The synthesis of chitosan nanoderivatives with various acids in the presence of sodium tripolyphosphate stabilizer was carried out using the ionotropic gelation method. The effects of the component ratios of chitosan and hydrochloric and acetic acids on the formation of hydrochloride chitosan and nanoacetate chitosan from Bombyx mori were evaluated. Structural and physicochemical characteristics of hydrochloride chitosan and nanoacetate chitosan were determined using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), X-ray Diffraction Analysis (XRD), Infrared (IR), and Ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy.
