BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE PROPERTIES OF CHITOSAN AND MECHANISM OF ACTION

Abstract. The review analyzes the results of a study on the biologically active properties of chitosan isolated from various sources and its derivatives. Experimental data on the mechanism of action of chitosan in relation to some pathogenic microorganisms are summarized and a number of factors influencing their bioactive properties are given. The works on the biological activity of chitosan published in 2000-2022 were selected for this review.
